The AWE Touring Edition Exhaust for the 2022-2026 Volkswagen GTI is the first AWE exhaust suite for a GTI to feature AWE's patented, drone-canceling 180 Technology®. AWE has been in the GTI market since 1991 and calls the Mk8 system the result of three decades of performance engineering. A bespoke, straight-through mid-pipe resonator gives a deep, hearty tone down low and up high, whatever the transmission and wherever you shift, while the 180 Technology® resonator in the center of the system cancels the drone-prone frequencies.

AWE says the 180 Technology® internals will not break down and degrade over time, so the tone stays the same: full-bodied, drone-free rumble for life. The cat-back is handcrafted from CNC mandrel-bent 3" and 2.5" U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel with a .065" wall, and a slip-fit inlet adapter necks down to the factory downpipe while leaving an open 3" connection for a future upgrade. AWE rates the Touring Edition as the best ratio of interior refinement and exterior rumble, and you can still hear the sounds produced in Sport mode. It finishes with 5" double-walled, slash-cut tips that are individually adjustable for depth in the bumper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it street legal?
AWE lists this system as 50 State Legal because it does not tamper with any emissions control or monitoring devices; it bolts on behind the catalytic converters. AWE does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for it, and local sound limits vary, so check the rules where you drive.

Will it drone on the highway?
AWE calls the Touring Edition drone-free. Its 180 Technology® resonator cancels the drone-prone frequencies, so the cabin stays calm at cruise and the AWE note comes in under throttle.

Does it fit the factory downpipe?
Yes. AWE includes a slip-fit inlet adapter that connects to the factory downpipe while leaving an open 3" connection, so the adapter can come out later if you move to a larger aftermarket downpipe.

Can I make it louder later?
Yes. The Touring-to-Track Conversion Kit swaps the Touring mid section for the straight Track mid section, so you do not need a whole new system.

Do I need a tune?
No. It is a direct bolt-on cat-back with no ECU changes, and AWE backs it with its No Check Engine Light Guarantee.

Fitment Notes

• Fits the 2022-2026 GTI hatchback with the 2.0T, manual or DSG. It does not fit the Golf R, the Jetta GLI or the 2015-2021 Mk7/Mk7.5 GTI.
• The factory hangers and the factory sleeve clamp are reused with the AWE system.
• Direct bolt-on to the factory mounting points; no tune required.
